Battle of the Drafters! - Drafting Subteam 2021-2022

The Steel Bridge Drafting sub-team develops the drawings for truss and joint designs from DNAT and DNAJ. With Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD, we create a full 3D model and the fabrication package for the final bridge design. Here is this year’s Drafting team posing at the Icebreaker event in September:

While waiting for the design from other sub-teams, Drafting spends the first few months learning the programs and the drafting process. Around this time every year, the sub-team organizes a tradition called “Battle of the Drafters,” a competition between teams to find the best CAD model based on the proposed theme. This year’s theme is “Buildings.” The team came up with three brilliant ideas that you can see below!
